Educate. Empower.Excite
I have a passion for bettering our communities on a local and international scale. I believe education is the most powerful tool to do this through!
I founded a project called Adesua in rural Ghana in early 2013, and that is where I found my distinctive passion for education and empowering others.
My philosophy for education is that it should be an individualised approach, in which we should utilise individual student management plans, and a restorative practice approach, in order to cater to every students learning needs; allowing the student the optimum opportunity for education. As a teacher I believe there are many key elements to aiding our students learn how to become leading global citizens of the future; one of these is attempting to be a leading global citizen myself.
Since graduating from a Batchelor in Physical Education & Health in 2014, I moved to a very remote community in the Northern Territory. I have been living in Nganmarriyanga for two years now working in the local school there. Nganmarriyanga School is an ESL school hosting Indigenous students whos first langauge is mostly Murrinh-Patha. Since employed at the school I have taught students from Transistion to year 10, in a range of subjects. I have also taken on leadership roles such as: ICT coordinator and HPE Coordinator. Whilst living in Nganmarriyanga, I have been studying my Masters in Education (TEOSL) & my Professional Honours in Early Childhood, both projected to finish in October 2017.
